Bracciale con cordino in cotone.
Si tratta del monogramma mariano più diffuso e conosciuto nell’ambito dell’arte sacra, si trova spesso nei quadri della Vergine Maria o negli Ex Voto – “per grazia ricevuta” – lasciati dai fedeli nei santuari. Esso ha una duplice valenza: da un lato le due lettere rappresentano l’espressione latina “Auspice Maria”, ossia “sotto la protezione di Maria”, e dall’altro sono un richiamo implicito al saluto che l’arcangelo Gabriele rivolse alla Madonna quando le annunciò che sarebbe divenuta la Madre del Salvatore: “Ave Maria”.
