Each medal is a unique piece.
Each jewel is built around the medal of the “Miraculous Madonna” taken from the sanctuary of Rue du Bac in Paris.
“Miraculous Madonna: miraculous medal (or medal of Our Lady of Grace, or medal of the Immaculate) is the name that the Catholic tradition has given to the medal created following what happened in 1830 in Paris, in rue du Bac n. 140, to St. Catherine Labouré, a novice in the convent of the daughters of charity of St. Vincent de Paul, who allegedly had Marian apparitions. According to reports from Sister Labouré, this medal was minted – following what was requested by Our Lady during the second apparition (November 27, 1830) – as a sign of love, a pledge of protection and a source of grace. Since then, the so-called “Chapel of the Apparitions” has become a popular place of worship, open to all the faithful.
Mary is depicted in the act of crushing the head of the serpent. In doing so, God declared the struggle between good and evil (symbolized by the serpent, i.e. the devil) began. This fight is won by Jesus Christ, the new Adam, together with Mary, the new Eve.
• Rays of light: symbolizing graces, they are defined by the Church as the Treasurer of God.”
• The jaculatory prayer: these images are framed by the invocation “O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you”, materialized during the apparition
